Hilani has long experience teaching English to executives and professionals and has also written teaching materials since 2008. She co-authored, with Viviane Kirmeliene, the Brick by Brick series (Standfor imprint, FTD Educação), used by primary schools in Brazil.
In 2025 she was a guest on the BRAZ-TESOL MaWSIG Podcast season “Teachers who became authors”.
