Hilani Mercadante is an English teacher based in São Paulo, Brazil, who has long experience teaching English to executives and professionals and has written English-language textbooks since 2008. She is the co-author, with Viviane Kirmeliene, of the Brick by Brick series published by FTD Educação (Standfor).

Two one-to-one programs: English Conversation, to speak fluently and confidently, and Business English, to use English with confidence in meetings, presentations, emails and negotiations. In-company and executive programs are available on request.

Lessons are live online, last 60 minutes and are open to students anywhere in the world.

Conversation program: R$ 680 per month (4 lessons), R$ 1,280 per month (8 lessons) or R$ 180 for a single lesson. Business English program: R$ 840 per month (4 lessons), R$ 1,600 per month (8 lessons) or R$ 220 for a single lesson. In-company and executive programs: on request. All lessons are 60 minutes. Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL).

After the diagnostic session, you receive a payment link on WhatsApp. Monthly programs are prepaid by Pix, credit card or boleto (via Asaas), renew automatically each month with no minimum commitment, and can be cancelled at any time. International students can pay in US dollars or by international card on request. Lessons can be rescheduled free of charge with 24 hours’ notice.

It is the first step: a complimentary 30-minute session in which Hilani assesses your English and understands your goals. You finish with a personalized written study plan. Places are limited; to request yours, send an email.

The Conversation program focuses on speaking in everyday, travel and social situations. Business English focuses on English for work: professional vocabulary, meetings, presentations, emails and negotiations.

From A1 to C2 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The diagnostic session identifies your level and sets the starting point of your plan.

Yes. Lessons are live and online on Microsoft Teams, which works on a computer, tablet or phone, including in the browser.

Yes. In addition to the diagnostic session with Hilani, there is a level test with an AI-led voice interview that helps estimate your CEFR level (A1 to C2) before your study plan.

Yes. The programs are designed for executives and professionals with busy schedules: one-to-one 60-minute lessons, free rescheduling with 24 hours' notice, and content built around your real situations, such as meetings, presentations, interviews and emails. In-company programs for teams are available on request.

In a one-to-one lesson the 60 minutes are yours: the content follows your goal and your industry, with at least 20 minutes of protected speaking time per lesson, a personal error log and a written monthly progress report. In groups and apps, pace and speaking time are shared or standardized.
